HomeMy Public PortalAboutVictory Letter - Youth Baseball - Softball - 1 27 14_201409080835501542Peter,
Watertown Baseball is happy with Victory Field Phase I.
• Our players 13 and older are able to play regardless of any inclement weather. Virtually no rain
outs that lead to rescheduled games.
• Football, soccer, etc, games are played regardless of any inclement weather.
Our concerns regarding Victory Field Phase II
• Conceptual documents or design documents are not available on the Watertown Web site (also
did a Google search). Questions - Number of running lanes: 6? 8? lane width (standard is 42")?
Tot lot? basketball courts? tennis courts? where will the current storage units be placed?
• On the new surface inside the track, will the high school track team be able to throw the javelin?
throw the shot put? do the long jump?
• Where will the Relay For Life be held? Tents will not be able to be staked to the ground. No food
or beverages. No Watertown Fire Department grill.
• Who will play on the field? Soccer? Field Hockey? Lacrosse? What outside organizations?
Others?
• How much is budgeted?
• I'm sure we will have other questions once we review the design documents and proposal
Without know the scope and the cost of the Victory Field Phase II, Watertown Baseball & Girls Softball
cannot support the project.
Sincerely,
Watertown Baseball & Girls Softball Board
