Home My Public Portal AboutR 98:093 98-93 I)atc ot Adop~ionAPrtl 2~ 1998 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WHEREAS, there exists a need for engineering services with connection with several capitol improvement projects within the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") and WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:l 1-5(1)(a) professional services are exempt from the requirements of competitive bidding, and WHEREAS, the local finance officer has certified that funds are available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam and Associates CKillam") to provide said engineering services for the following capitol projects in the amounts not to exceed those separately setforth, billable at the hourly rate setforth in the professional services contract between Killam and the Borough. PROJECT NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT 1) Roofing Fire Department Building and $ 6,000.00 Police Headquarters Building 2) In-Line skating park $ 3,000.00 3) Plans and specification monitoring and inspections: $24,800.00 air quality monitoring; Library Asbestos Abatement 4) Inspection Hayward and Bergen Street Pump Station $ 2,200.00 IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5(1)(a) due to the specialized and professional nature of the service provided.
