A CAPITAL PROJECT AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION OF
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
TWO (2) EMERGENCY CARE TYPE I VEHICLES FOR THE
VILLAGE FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING
VILLAGE MANAGER TO SELL REPLACED VEHICLES
AND TO IMPLEMENT THE PURCHASE TRANSACTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne Fire Rescue Department requires two (2) new
Emergency Care Type I vehicles (the "Equipment") to facilitate the provision of fire rescue services;
and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the Equipment is exempt from competitive bidding
requirements pursuant to Village Code Section 2-86, as based upon the purchase transaction of other
Florida governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that adoption of this Resolution is in the best interest
of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the above -stated recitals is hereby adopted
and confirmed.
Section 2. Purchase of Equipment Authorized, Source of Funds. That the purchase
of the above -described Equipment, consisting of two (2) Emergency Care Type I vehicles, at a total
cost not to exceed $410,000.00 is hereby approved. The purchase shall be made from governmental
contracts pursuant to Village Code Section 2-86. The source of funds for the purchase shall be that
which is indicated in the Village Manager's Memorandum which accompanies this Resolution.
Section 3. Sale of Replaced Equipment. That the Village Manager is authorized to
sell the two (2) vehicles which are being replaced by this purchase as described in the Village
Manager's Memorandum.
Section 4. Implementation. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to take
any action which is necessary to implement the purposes of this Resolution, and to execute the
Village - Vendor Purchase Agreement once approved as to form and legal sufficiency by the Village
Attorney.
Section 5. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption hereof.
