HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 19-183Yezolutton of tht j90r0g4 of Tar #Ere#, N� $� No. 19 -183 Date of RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CARTERET PLANNING BOARD TO REVIEW THE AMENDED AND RESTATED SALT MEADOW REDEVELOPMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A: 12A -1 et seq., as amended and supplemented (the "Redevelopment Law ") provides a process for municipalities to participate imthe redevelopment and improvement of areas in need of redevelopment; and WHEREAS, on December 19, 2011, the Borough finally adopted Ordinance No. 11 -29 authorizing a redevelopment plan for Block 602, Lots 1 and 8 and Block 705, Lots 3- 20.01, 21, 31, 32 and 48 (the "Original Redevelopment Area "); and WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 15 -174, duly adopted on November 5, 2015, the Borough reaffirmed the Original Redevelopment Area and included Block 602, Lot 7 and Block 603, Lot 1 within the area in need of redevelopment (collectively with the Original Redevelopment Area, the "Redeveloper Area "), and WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 15 -056, duly adopted on February 26, 2015, the Borough determined that the area consisting of Block 701, Lot 1 on the Official Tax Map of the Borough constituted an "area in need of redevelopment" in accordance with the Redevelopment Law (the "Redevelopment Area ") and further directed the Carteret Planning Board (the "Planning Board ") to prepare a redevelopment plan for the Redevelopment Area in accordance with the Redevelopment Law; and WHEREAS, the Borough previously adopted a redevelopment plan governing the Redevelopment Area (the "Original Salt Meadows Redevelopment Plan "); and WHEREAS, the Borough desires to direct the Planning Board to review the Amended and Restated Salt Meadows Redevelopment Plan (the "Redevelopment Plan", a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: Section 1. The Planning Board is hereby authorized and directed to review the Redevelopment Plan. Section 2. The Planning Board, upon completion of its review, shall transmit a report to the Borough along with any recommended revisions or amendments. Section 3. The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward this Resolution to the Planning Board for action consistent herewith. NO. 19 -183 PAGE 2 Section 4.
