HomeMy Public PortalAbout20180614 - Hopkinton Library Trustees - Meeting MinutesHopkinton Board of Library Trustees Minutes of June 14, 2018 meeting The Hopkinton Board of Library Trustees met at the Public Library on June 14, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. Susan Porter, Mike McNamara, Margie Wiggin, and Library Director Heather Backman, and were present. May meeting minutes were presented an approved. Heather presented her monthly Director’s Report. In an appendix to her report, Heather included statistics showing continued growth in overall library usage. She also included a list of Library policies to review, revamp, and/or create. There is also a continued focus on programs of community interest for all ages. Town meeting approved the full budget, which includes, among other increases, Saturday opening during the summer. Trustees plan and host a celebration on the first summer Saturday which will be on July 14, 2018. The Trustees will provide snacks and coffee. There will be a rededication of the “Time Capsule” Bench, and a scavenger hunt sponsored by the Library and the Historical Society. The Strategic Plan, due in October 2018, is in progress. The patron survey went online in early May, and data gathering is continuing. Progress will be presented to the Trustee Board each month, and the final Plan will be presented for approval by the Trustees. The 7/19/ 2018 Trustee meeting has been cancelled, as the Strategic Planning process is still ongoing. A date for approval was set for 8/16/2018, and for the first meeting of the 2018-2019 year was set for 9/20/2018. No new business was introduced, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
