REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER ORGANIZATION TO WAIVE THE 51% RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK The Commission approved the request. B . REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DIST-RICT, DR. DOUG SEARS LEARNING CENTER, FOR RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION AND A PORTION OF TEMPLE CITY PARK FOR A STUDENT ART SHOW ON JUNE 3, 2012 The Commission approved the request. C . REQUEST FROM DENNIS CHANG FOR RESERVED USE OF THE SOFTBALL FIELD AND ADJACENT BLEACHERS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR FILMING A "FLASHLIGHT MOB" VIDEO ON JUNE 10, 2012 The Commission approved the request subject to the following conditions: • Applicant to pay cost for a Community Preservation Officer or Sheriff's Deputy to be on site throughout the event; • Food truck (to serve dinner to participants) is to be located in the south parking lot, or on Daines Drive adjacent to the softball field, with food served only to invited participants identified with wristbands; • Music and other noise must not be disruptive to the residents living in the vicinity of the park; any requests from staff to lower the volume of music or to quiet the group must be complied with; • Participation in the filming is limited to a maximum of 150; if more than 150 arrive at the park to participate, applicant is to advise them they must leave; • All flashlights/devices must be aimed toward the ballfield (north) and not towards adjacent residences; • Athletic field lights will not be turned on; • All videotaping must end by 9 p .m. with cleanup concluded, and all participants leaving the park by 10 p.m. • An insurance endorsement naming the City as an additional insured , including products liability for food served , must be submitted and approved by the City Attorney. The applicant is also required to obtain a film permit from the City Clerk's office, pay the required fee ($168), and obtain a temporary business license ($1 07 per day) from the Community Development Department. City Council June 5, 2012 Page 3 4. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for May 2012. CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to review the Parks and Recreation Commission actions of their meeting of May 16, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT : Th is item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011-12 City Budget.
