TRACK AND FIELD EVENT FACILITIES
1. On basic track design with adding 2 lanes as proposed — is the committee in agreement? Committee
agreed, unanimous consensus. June 20, 2017
2. On the long jump and triple jump area as proposed — is the committee in agreement? Committee
agreed, unanimous consensus. June 20, 2017
3. On the expanding the sand pits as requested — is the committee in agreement? Committee agreed,
unanimous consensus. June 20, 2017
4. Keeping the rubberized "D" area as shown with the high jump and pole vault as shown, but without
the shot-put — is the committee in agreement? Committee agreed, unanimous consensus. June 20,
2017
5. Keeping javelin as shown on the grass field — is the committee in agreement? Committee agreed,
unanimous consensus. June 20, 2017
6. On keeping the discus where shown on the proposed plan, throwing on grass— is the committee in
agreement? Committee agreed, unanimous consensus. We will also ask the DPW to be vigilant if
there is divot to repair. June 20, 2017
7. On a vote to leave the shot-put in its current location, and move launch pad to what the sketch shows,
and not do the bocce court or stone dust launching pad but leave as grass: vote was 8-1 with Mr.
Centola voting "no". July 10, 2017
8. Is everyone comfortable with keeping storage in the proposed location— is the committee in
agreement? Committee agreed, unanimous consensus. July 25, 2017
9. So track equipment storage unit will be precast concrete, size 16 x 30 parallel to 8 lane section of
track, minimize impervious area, doors as appropriate - do we have consensus? Committee agreed,
unanimous consensus. July 25, 2017
PLAYING FIELD INSIDE TRACK
10. On the proposed design of the grass field — is the committee in agreement? Committee agreed,
unanimous consensus. June 20, 2017
11. On a vote to not install nets on the field, and to lock the track for use by the general public when the
fields is in use by HS sports for practice and games (track, soccer lacrosse): vote was 8-1 with Mr.
Centola voting "no". July 10, 2017
12. On bleachers on the north side, change to four sections of 30 seats each, at the center line with the gap
between them to remain, and the paving to be reduced accordingly — is the committee in agreement?

13. On bleachers on the south side at the track, change to two sections of 30 seats each, at the finish line,
and area just to the west where the other two sections of bleachers were shown, provide locker
storage units for students to store bags and clothing to keep them out of the rain - is the committee in
agreement? Committee agreed, unanimous consensus. July 10, 2017
PARKING AREA AND DRIVEWAY
14. The recommendation is we not provide a bus turnaround - continue to refine operational aspects of
using the gate? All were in agreement with exception of Mr. Centola, vote was 8-1 with Mr. Centola
voting "no". August 29, 2017
15. The recommendation is we formalize a car turnaround by moving the existing telephone pole with
streetlight to the edge of the property at Marion Road. All in agreement with exception of Mr.
Centola, vote was 8-1 with Mr. Centola voting "no". August 29, 2017
16. The recommendation on Tony's motion is to leave the 23 formal spaces in rear parking area and
reclaim the 4 dirt spaces as green area. All in favor: vote was 6 to 3 with Mr. Centola, Mr. Magoon &
Mr. Leonard voting "no". August 29, 2017
17. The recommendation is we endorse concept of having the driveway be a shared space using Complete
Streets principles, expanded further down to the edge of the parking lots. All in agreement? Vote was
880. September 19, 2017
18. The recommendation is we want Orchard and Marion entryways to be cleaned up and be more
attractive? The specifics will be determined at another day - obviously Orchard Street would get more
emphasis, but the Marion Road exit would also be refurbished. All in agreement? Vote was 8-0.

19. The recommendation is to remove utility poles and bury overhead wires. All in agreement? Vote was

TENNIS AND BASKETBALL COURTS
20. The recommendation is keep five tennis courts, with existing dimensions— all if favor? All were in
agreement with exception of Mr. Centola, vote was 8-1 with Mr. Centola voting "no". July 25, 2017
21. The recommendation is keep the 84' x 50' basketball court in its current location aligned with the
north edge of the tennis courts, with CDM Smith to investigate the buffer zones required. All were in
agreement with exception of Mr. Centola, vote was 8-1 with Mr. Centola voting "no". July 25, 2017
22. Is there agreement that the pickleball striping on the tennis courts should be done on a temporary
basis? Committee agreed, unanimous consensus. July 25, 2017
23. Made motion to place 2 bleachers section in front of tennis courts. Is there agreement? Committee
agreed, unanimous consensus. July 25, 2017
24. Made motion to leave basketball court regulation size 84' x 50'. Does the everyone agree?

25. On Councilor Palomba's motion to add space on to the 480 sq. ft. track storage space - make it 560
sq. feet to give 80 sq. ft. to tennis with a separate door. Does the everyone agree? Committee agreed,
unanimous consensus. July 25, 2017
LIGHTING
26. The recommendation is for the 6 courts, there would be 8 poles, 4 on each side, 2 or 3 LED lighting
fixtures per pole, poles 40' high with black finish, and 3 zones of pushbutton zone controls. All in
agreement? Vote was 9-0. October 3, 2017
27. The recommendation for the track and field lighting, there would be 4 poles approximately 80 ft tall
with black finish located outside the track, with LED lighting fixtures designed for 30 footcandles on
the field. All in agreement? Vote was 8-1 with Ms. Thomas voting no. October 3, 2017
28. The recommendation for parking area and driveway lighting, there would be decorative poles, with
programmable LED fixtures. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0. October 3, 2017
29. The recommendation for field lights is 30 footcandle when permitted use- off by 9:00 pm with
flexibility for certain events; 15or 7.5 footcandle on field for casual use if no permitted use; low level
lights for track walkers until 10:00 pm. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0. October 3, 2017
STORMWATER SYSTEM, PERIMETER WALLS AND FENCES
30. The recommendation is to endorse the 4 points provided by the Stormwater Advisory Committee. All
in agreement? Vote was 8-0. September 19, 2017
• Reach for the goal of reducing stormwater runoff rate, volume, and nutrient loading to the
maximum extent practicable.
• Incorporate the following stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and features,
again, to the maximum extent practicable:
a. Low Impact Design (LID) techniques
b. Pervious pavement
c. Porous and other stormwater friendly surface treatments, including the tennis and
basketball courts
d. Various techniques for infiltration of stormwater
e. Reuse of stormwater for irrigation
• Highlight stormwater BMPs and features of the Phase 2 renovation with a variety of
educational signage and other showcasing techniques.
• Introduce stormwater BMPs and features that do not require undue maintenance beyond
current resources and effort levels for their success.
31. For retaining walls — Understand that it will be fixed on east Katherine Rd side, and the south Marion
Rd side. Even though CDM Smith only looked at eastern side, we need to look at southern side.
Other than that, don't think we need to make any other recommendation. Is committee OK with that?

32. For the southern aide fencing, along Marion Rd - There will be a concrete curb with the face along
the property line — the existing height black chain link fence will be on the town side, and the abutters
can put a fence if they choose along the face of the curb on the property line — and the curb will
prevent vegetation from growing. Is committee OK with that? Vote was 8-0. September 19, 2017

33. For the eastern aide fencing, along Katherine Rd - from the end of the tennis courts to the beginning
of the tot lot — to have the fence be 6 ft high black coated chain link. Is committee OK with that?
Vote was 8-0. September 19, 2017
34. The proposal is a 6' tall tongue and groove wood fence at the property line inside the east side of the
tot lot. Let's take a vote. Vote was 1-8 with Mr. Palomba voting yes. This means that the fence will
remain a 6' black chain link fence. October 3, 2017
35. The recommendation the fencing along Orchard Street and the driveway to be 4' high decorative
metal fence with decorative posts or piers, designed to be engaging and welcoming, and
complimentary with Phase 1. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0. October 3, 2017
36. Recommend to give CDM Smith the discretion to come up with t decorative entryway at Orchard St,
with a range of options for the design committee to consider. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0.

OTHER EQUIPMENT, FIXTURES, LANDSCAPING, AMENITIES
37. The amended motion for the triangle between the courts and track is to maintain the green space
feeling there, incorporate stormwater management in point of triangle, incorporate existing shade
trees and additional shade trees that can fit, benches with backs and arms, and one appropriate sized
covered structure with connecting pathways for accessibility. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0.

38. So the motion for the area along Orchard St up to the western edge of the tot lot is to add at least one
bench, do not install any exercise equipment subject to review of how the equipment was acquired,
add - on consultation with Tree Warden - replacement trees for red maples that have died, and add a
few ornamental shade trees to provide points of visual interest. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0.

39. So the consensus is no dog park at Victory Field? Agreed. October 17, 2017
40. So the motion for the area along eastern edge of the park is to not put exercise equipment in, leaving
vegetation as is other than removing invasive species growing in the wall, and changing the
recommendation for the black chain link fence from 6 ft to 7 ft. All in agreement? Vote was 9-0.

41. The motion is to remove the white pine tree in the tot lot and replace it with enhanced landscaping.
All in favor? Vote was 7-2 with Mr. Magoon and Mr. Centola voting no. October 17, 2017
42. The motion for the eastern side of the tot lot is to incorporate green screening along the property line
with the chain link fence, and to add grass, benches, and other amenities, in consultation with the Tree
Warden. All in favor? Vote was 9-0. October 17, 2017
43. On a motion to remove the porta-potties and enhance signage to the restrooms in the field house. All
in favor? Vote was 9-0. October 17, 2017
