John Wolf
Mike Anderson

II. STATUS REPORTS:
A. WINTER CARNIVAL ATV RACE/RADIO CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT SHOW:
The event was carried on without incident. Mr. Dorris
commended the Police Department keeping spectators off of the
aircraft ramp area and reported no conflicts with air operations
during the event.
B. SIGNS FOR VEHICLE CONTROL ON RAMPS:
Staff advised that 5 signs had been secured free from the
Idaho Bureau of Aeronautics. Additional signs had been ordered
for authorizing vehicles to be on the field. The Committee asked
that a dashboard sign be developed to identify authorized
vehicles.
III. 1994 Airport Improvement Project:
Sundby reported that the U.S. Congress has not yet approved
the appropriation bill for the AIP Program. This may cause
delays in the project though at this time that is not expected,
and, if the appropriation is cut back, items such as the AWOS
upgrade may be deleted from this project. He presented the
contract documents and advised the city not to execute the
agreements until the AIP is funded. He suggested that the staff
correspond with Suebert Excavating to advise them of the project
status.

IV. 1995 Airport Improvement Project/ Master Plan Update:
Staff reported contact with Don Larson, Seattle ADO planner,
who advised that commencing the consultant selection process at
this time would be appropriate. After a lengthy discussion,
Tucker moved to recommend to the City Council that:
1. Staff be directed to prepare an RFP/RFQ for planning
consultants;
2. The Airport Advisory Committee be designated as the
Master Plan Advisory Committee; and
3. That staff be directed to arrange a pre-planning
conference between the Co .mmittee and Mr. Larson.
Anderson seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The Committee also asked staff to secure copies of recent
master plans from other airports, specifically, Halley,
Boise, Coeur d'Alene, and Sandpoint.
V. AIRPORT SURVEY:
The Committee reviewed the f~nal draft, suggested changes
to the document and returned it to the Engineer for preparation
in completed form with the changes and notes proposed.
After discussion, Anderson moved to recommend that, based
on the survey map, the staff proceed to offer leases to those now
on the waiting list for lease sites. Tucker seconded and the
motion carried unanimously.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Without further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:30
p.m.
Respectfully submitted,

Dear Mr. Seubert,
This letter is to update you on the McCall Airport Improvement
Project for which your firm is the successful bidder. I now have
all of the contract documents ready for signature, however, since
the U.S. Congress has not as yet passed the legislation to
apDroDriate the funds for the program, will not forward the
documents at this time.
We are still confident that the FAA program will be approved and
that this projeCt will proceed. As soon as the Seattle Airport
District Office advises us of the bill's passage, we will forward
the agreements. As of this date, it seems likely that that may
occur in mid to late March. If so, it should represent no delay
in the project for us. If there are further delays, we may want
to discuss scheduling with you.
I hope this brings you up to date on the project status. We look
forward to spring and to getting this work underway. If you have
questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
Arthur/J. Schmidt,
Interi~ City Manager
