Mayor Yu called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. in the City
Council Conference Room at City Hall, 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City.

3. PUBLIC COMMENTS -None
4. INTERVIEWS FOR THE CITY COMMISSIONS
The City Council interviewed four applicants each for two seats on the Planning,
Parks & Recreation and Public Safety Commission. Each seat serves a two year
term. The four applicants for each commission were recommended by the
Commission Appointment Ad Hoc Committee composed of Councilmember Blum
and Councilmember Chavez. The Ad Hoc Committee reviewed all forty seven
applications, interviewed twenty of the applicants and recommended four applicants
for each of the commissions for a final interview before the full Council.
The following four candidates interviewed for the Planning Commission: Steve
Curran, Tom O'Leary, Patricia Shen and Songsin (Sam) Spata.
At the conclusion of the interviews, Council deliberated and concurred to appoint
Steve Curran and Tom O'Leary to the Planning Commission.
RECESS/RECONVENE
The City Council meeting was recessed at 7:25 p.m. and reconvened at 7:30 p.m.
with all Councilmembers present.
The following four candidates interviewed for the Parks & Recreation Commission:
Dora Hubbard, Donna Georgina, Peggy Miller and Pam Vigil.
At the conclusion of the interviews, Council deliberated and concurred to appoint
Donna Georgina and Pam Vigil for the Parks & Recreation Commission.

RECESS/RECONVENE
The City Council meeting was recessed at 8:35 p.m. and reconvened at 8:40
p.m. with all Councilmembers present.
The following four candidates interviewed for the Public Safety Commission:
Manuel Gimenez Jr., Lucy Hernandez, Ousama Nirnri and Danny Redmond.
At the conclusion of the interviews, Council deliberated and concurred to appoint
Ousama Nirnri and Danny Redmond for the Public Safety Commission.
All those appointed by Council tonight will be formally approved by resolution and
sworn into office at the next City Council meeting of July 3, 2012.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Special Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m. to the City Council
Regular Meeting on July3, 2012, in the Council Chambers, 5938 Kauffman Avenue,
Temple City.

4. MONTHLY MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
Representatives of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reviewed the crirne
statistics and Sheriff's activities for the month of May and June 2012.
No action was taken.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 8:24 a.m.
