Attendees: Eddie Crone, George Reese, Barry Brown, Jennifer Oetgen, Paul Wolff,
Inman Beasley, Bonnie Kline, Bill Nicholson, Joe Wilson, Diane Schleicher
Approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Paul Wolff motioned to approve, Barry
Brown seconded.
I. 13TH, 14TH AND 15TH STREET AREA DRAINAGE STUDY– Bill Nicholson
A. Fee Proposal
1. The proposal was submitted to Diane on July 2, 2008. It includes
the scope of work that was discussed at the previous meeting. The
study should not exceed $23,000.00. It should be completed
within 45 days. It will encompass the area between 12th St, 2nd
Ave., 16th St and Venetian Dr. or the southwestern area of the
island. The job will be designed in phases but will start with the
outfalls. Paul Wolff moves to recommend to council up to
$23,000.00 for the study. Barry Brown seconded.
II. WATER AND SEWER RATE STUDY – Jennifer Oetgen
A. Final Recommended Rates
1. Senior rates will stay the same as long as the customer stays within
the 3,000 gallons that is included in the base rate. The same
applies to the sewer at $1.48 rate. Paul Wolff moves to
recommend to council that we approve the rate structure. Barry
Brown seconded.
III. FT. SCREVEN WATERLINES – Inman Beasley
A. Project Status
1. Southern Champion has completed Solomon Ave. and is now
working on Pulaski.
IV. WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT – Jennifer Oetgen
A. Antidegradation Review
1. Comments have been received from EPD
2. Response to EPD no later than July 18th
B. Watershed Assessment
1. Sampling Continuing
C. Phosphorous Study
1. EPD is addressing our written request for justification of a
proposed phosphorous limit
2. We need this before we can prepare the DDR.
D. Grit Removal and Odor Control
1. Has been in EPD’s “30 Day Pile” for two weeks
V. GROUNDWATER PERMIT
A. Response to letter to EPD
1. Have not yet received a response from EPD.
VI. TE GRANT STATUS
A. No Change
VII. TYBRISA – Inman Beasley
A. Project Closed Out
