A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE $400,000 FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED PROP. C FUND TO STATE STREET, STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2015, the City Council awarded a consulting contract to
Hushmand Associates, Inc. to perform the Geotechnical and soils engineering study on
State Street and Cedar Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this investigation revealed that a leak from the storm drain lateral
pipe has caused the subsidence; and
WHEREAS, the City has retained a consulting firm to provide an _expedited
design for the area; and
WHEREAS, State Street; from Lynwood Road to Cedar Avenue, is considered a
collector road which makes that section of the Street eligible for the use Prop. C
funding; and
WHEREAS, engineering staff requested from MTA an appropriation of funds in
the amount of $400,000 to cover the cost of design and construction; and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 2016, the City received a confirmation from MTA to use
Prop C funds for that section of the roadway, in the amount of $400,000, using Prop. C
fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the City
Manager to appropriate funds from the unappropriated Prop. C fund to State Street;
from Lynwood Road to Cedar Avenue, Street Improvement Project, as follows;

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
