AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION A, "WATER RATES
ENUMERATED" OF SECTION 10, "WATER RATES" OF
CHAPTER 11 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TO ENUMERATE WATER RATES FOR
METER READINGS AFTER NOVEMBER 1, 1988; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE: PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE:
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
I.
That Chapter 11, Section 10, Paragraph A of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Richland Hills, as amended, be hereby amended to hereafter be and read as follows:
A. WATER RATES ENUMERATED
From and after the first day of November, 1988, (meter readings after
such date) the following water rates and charges shall be in full force and
effect within the City:
(1) All customers with water service shall be charged the following,
• unless otherwise provided for:
First 2,000 Gallons - $10.50 Minimum
All over 2,000 Gallons - $1.95 Per 1,000 Gallons
The above rates shall be computed on a monthly basis to coincide
with each customer's billing date.
(2) Charges for apartment houses shall be as follows:
When two (2) or more residential living units are supplied with water
from one (1) meter, a minimum water service charge of $10.50 will
be made each month for each unit, adjusted by an occupancy factor
of ninety (90) percent.
II.
SAVING CLAUSE. That Chapter 11 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Richland
Hills, Texas, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect, save and except as
amended by this ordinance.

III.
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the
City Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this
ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of
this ordinance shall be declared invalid or unconstitutional by the valid judgment or
decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality
shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and
sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City
Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such invalid or
unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
rv.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by the Richland Hills City Charter and
the laws of the State of Texas.
