Executive Session Meeting Minutes
May 7, 2018

Board of Selectmen Members Present: John Coutinho, Chair, Claire Wright, Vice Chair, Todd
Cestari, Brendan Tedstone, Brian Herr
Officials Present: None
The Board of Selectmen met in Public Session at 6:00 PM (see separate Minutes).
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
At 6:30 PM, the Chair entertained a motion to enter into executive session to consider strategy
relative to contract negotiations with non-union personnel, Norman Khumalo, as an open
meeting may have detrimental effects on the bargaining position of the Board, and to reconvene
in open session at the annual town meeting.
MOVED by Mr. Herr and SECONDED by Mr. Cestari. ROLL CALL: Mr. Coutinho-Yes; Ms.
Wright-Yes; Mr. Herr-Yes; Mr. Cestari-Yes; Mr. Tedstone-Yes. VOTE to Approve: Yes-5,
No-0.
The Board discussed negotiation strategies relative to the Town Manager contract.
MOVED by Mr. Herr and SECONDED by Mr. Cestari to exit Executive Session. ROLL CALL:
Mr. Coutinho-Yes; Ms. Wright-Yes; Mr. Herr-Yes; Mr. Cestari-Yes; Mr. Tedstone-Yes. VOTE to
Approve: Yes-5, No-0.
At the conclusion of Executive Session at 6:45 PM, the Board reconvened in open session and
moved to the annual town meeting in the Middle School auditorium.
