Request by a Property Owner on Lovell for the City to Relocate the South End Business District Compactor on Lovell Avenue to Inlet Avenue. A. This new location has been discussed before and the committee does not think it is a good alternative. Possible alternatives discussed are: find out which businesses use the compactor, ask if they can change their dump schedule to between the hours of 8-10A.M., ask if the hauling company can pick up after 10:00A.M., landscape or soundproof the area surrounding the compactor. B. Joe Wilson and Chantel Morton will talk with the businesses to find out who uses the compactor and find out what time their facilities close down. They will also try to find other possible alternatives. Old Business: I. Drainage Issue and Report from HGBD Regarding 1501 Chatham Avenue A. Report from HGBD shows that the dirt is going through the annular space on the outside of the pipe. They have mentioned a website in the report where an item that will seal the area can be purchased. The report also shows that there should be drains on the sea wall where the ground water can be released. This portion is already included in 4th phase of drainage project but it could be added as a change order to the existing contract to be fixed sooner. B. Barry Brown motions to fast track the drainage pipe through the yard when they begin construction on the 14th St. project and have the engineer do an inspection of the house prior to starting construction. Charlie Brewer seconded. II. Update on the 14TH Street Drainage Project A. Peter Hand Easement 1. The City Attorney says they are approaching an adequate settlement and should have something worked out next week. B. DNR Permit 1. Can not file for permit until the easement is settled. C. Contractor Extension 1. Bill Lovett will request another 90 day extension D. Relocation of GA Power Utility Poles 1. -Poles are on city right of way -It is the Contractor’s responsibility to negotiate with Utility companies. 2. Bill Lovett is meeting on Monday with the Contractor and GA Power. Bill Lovett and Charlie Brewer agree that a representative of the City should be at the meeting as well as our local GA Power representative. III. Proposed Paving Schedule without Water and Sewer Utility Conflicts – 2009 SPLOST (To starting coming into Tybee from the County in 2011 or 2012 depending on the timing and cost of the construction of the new County Jail). A. Paul Wolff recommends moving forward on paving and reconstruction projects as the money becomes available excluding 8th Street. Barry Brown seconded. Charlie Brewer motioned to adjourn.
