GA Power Contract: Add 7 lights to Soft Ball Lighting Contract (due to miscount) A. There is a $256 monthly maintenance charge for leasing the lights. B. GA Power has not been billing Tybee for this service for about a year. C. The City has the option to purchase the package within the first 60 months. D. The Committee approves the amended contract and GA Power will start billing. There will be no back charges due to the fact that non-billing is the fault of GA Power. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGS A. Charlie Brewer motions to approve. Barry Brown seconded the motion. Old Business: I. 8TH STREET DRAINAGE A. $300,000 is the cost estimate to run a line that can carry 1 cu. ft. of water per second back to Butler Ave. B. Bill Lovett will also get a cost of running the line to the west side of Butler Ave. In that situation it may be able to use a smaller line with less maintenance needs. II. WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT A. Grit Removal System is installed 1. Construction Status – Start up July 14th when the manufacturer representative arrives. B. Odor Control – WWTP and Jones Street Pump Station #6 1. Construction Status – in service III. 14th STREET DRAINAGE A. Notice to Proceed issued June 23, 2009 1. Tree Removal Only 2. Completion date will be adjusted depending on how long they will be out of service. B. Tree Removal/Georgia Power 1. The trees have been removed and Georgia Power has been notified. 2. It will be 4 weeks before they are on site. 3. It will take another 2 weeks to complete the job. C. Current DNR Permit Status 1. As of yesterday, DNR management is working on their new budget. The permit has not been reviewed yet. IV. FT. SCREVEN WATERLINES A. Original Contract is completed. B. Approved Additional Work is mostly completed. C. Change Order No. 2 will include exploration and $2400 for improving Wilson. D. North Campbell Water Line 1. Would like to get a new water line from Butler Ave. to Van Horne St. on North Campbell Ave. if there is still money left in the contract. The committee recommends moving forward with this issue. E. Coupon jammed in pipe 1. The contractor will create a letter explaining they will fix any problems this may create in the future at their expense or give money up front for the city to hold on to incase the contractor ever goes out of business. V. BUTLER STREET SIDEWALKS A. Out for Bids B. Bid Date July 28 VI. LAZARETTO CREEK WATER AND SEWER SYSTEMS A. Bill Lovett contacted EPD by email to see if any businesses have an approved water system or well that they can transfer the capacity into our water system. B. EPD said yes, if there is a permitted well and they have data on that, then it could be assumed that it could work. C. Neither EPD nor Chatham County has any water records for the businesses in that area. There is no data to justify the added water usage. D. They will need to find a way to meter it. At 6:22 P.M. Barry Brown moved to adjourn and Charlie Brewer seconded. A quorum of City Council Members may be present which would constitute a meeting. These minutes were respectfully submitted by Jackie Cary.
