former Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Temple City.
5. On February 1, 2012, unless urgency legislation or another pending lawsuit
intervened, every redevelopment agency in the State of California was dissolved
and a successor agency was created for each redevelopment agency.
6. On June 27, 2012, AB 1484 was passed by the legislature. AB 1484 is a clean-
up bill to AB X1 26.
ANALYSIS:
AB X1 26 eliminated redevelopment agencies as of October 1, 2011. Under AB X1 26
(chapter 5, Statutes of 2011 ), an Oversight Board was established to oversee the
actions of the Successor Agency to the former Community Redevelopment Agency of the
City of Temple City.
In June 2012, AB 1484 was passed by the legislature to clean-up AB X1 26. There are
numerous changes to AB X1 26 as a result of AB 1484. An administrative change now
deems the Successor Agency to the former Community Redevelopment Agency of the
City of Temple City (Agency) a wholly separate legal entity from the City. The new
legislation requires the filing of a statement of organization with the Secretary of State and
the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles, authorizing the Mayor to sign all
documents to carry out the business of the Agency and designating the City Clerk to serve
as the Agency's Secretary. The Agency's business will now also be separately agendized
as a result of the legislation.
CONCLUSION:
In order to be in conformance with AB 1484, adoption of the Resolution No. 12-4848 is
necessary to ensure proper administration of the Agency.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact of this action.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IHE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY ORGANIZING AND DESIGNATING THE PERFORMANCE
OF CERTAIN ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES OF THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY
TO THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A
STATEMENT OF ORGANIZATION OF SUCH SUCCESSOR AGENCY WITH
THE SECRETARY OF STATE AND THE COUNTY CLERK OF LOS
ANGELES COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Successor Agency to the Community Redevelopment Agency of
the City of Temple City was established pursuant to Section 34171 0) of the Health and
Safety Code (the "Successor Agency"); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City ("City Council") is the
governing body of the Successor Agency; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to organize and establish the performance of certain
duties of the Successor Agency in order for the Successor Agency to conduct its
business;
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 53051 requires the filing of a statement
of organization with the Secretary of State and the county clerk of the county within
which a governmental entity is located following organization of such entity;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Mayor, or his or her designee, is hereby authorized to sign all
documents necessary to carry out the business of the Successor Agency.
2. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City shall serve as the secretary of
the Successor Agency and is hereby authorized and directed to perform such
secretarial tasks and duties as directed by the Successor Agency and to file information
concerning the Successor Agency with the Secretary of State and the County Clerk of
Los Angeles County, as set forth in the "Statement of Facts," attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
