A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING OPTION #2 AS PRESENTED IN THE STAFF REPORT AND
AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF THE 2016 4T" OF JULY CELEBRATION IN THE
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOURTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS FROM ACCOUNT #1052.60.701.64020 (REFUSEISPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT) AND AUTHORIZING THE OPENING OF A PURCHASE
ORDER IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $14,500 FOR FIREWORKS
DISPLAY SERVICES BY EXPOSHOWS, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to present a community fireworks
celebration in honor of the nation's July 4th holiday; and
WHEREAS, the annual City of Lynwood Fireworks Show has become a
time - honored community tradition within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to acquire services in support of this
community event; and
WHEREAS, per Chapter 6 -3.10 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the City
Manager is authorized to sign contracts to procure professional /special services
which do not exceed $15,000 in any one year period.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the expenditure not to
exceed $45,100 to provide for the 4th of July 2016 Celebration.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes staff to open a purchase order in
the amount not to exceed $14,500 for contracting of fireworks display services
from Exposhows, Inc. for the 2016 July 4th fireworks display.
Section 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 4. That the funding appropriation in the amount not to exceed
$45,100 be allocated from the Refuse /Special Events Fund Account
#1052.60.701.64020 and that event revenues be deposited into Account
#1011.60.33181.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City
Council Resolution.
