Savannah Beach,Tybee Island,va.
April 9th, 1937.
A special meetinf of Council was held today at 4 :00 P. M. and was
attended by Chairman of Council Logan, who presided: and Councilmen
Sharpley, Righton, Solomon, Lovell and Cann.
Council discussed the possibility of lowering tax assessments and
it was finally decided that the matter be referred to the Finance
Committee for them to go into the matter thoroughly and ascertain
if the taxes could be lowered, for the forthcoming year, they to be
impowered to act in the matter.
S, P. Kehoe was appointed Town Surveyor subject to the Mayorga
approval on motion made seconded and carried..
Mr. A._Ft Selma requested a building permit to erect a Marquee,

appromately 5 x 12 feet over the main entrance of his hotel on
the Strand. ,Permission was granted with the understanding that
Mr. Solms would move same when requested to do so by the Town, and
also that he have his attorney get in touch with the Town Attorney
so that an agreement could be drawn up by them.

ORDINANCE
An Ordinance to Joe entitled 4An ordinance to roculatq the stab-
vision c)1' lands within the corporate limits as now or hereafter
est lished at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, and for other

SECTION I. BE IT ORDAIN by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah
T3each, Tybee sland, Georgia, that from and after the passage of this
ordinance no tr t of land shall be subdivided until a map or plan
of said subdivision shall be first submitted to and approved: by the
Mayor and Councilme of Savannah Beach, , Tybee Island and a copy of
such subdivision map o plan, when approved shall be recorded with
the Clerk of Council of vannah Beach, Tybee. Island.
SECTIOIT 2. BE IT FURTHER 0' ► : IM ED by the authority aforesaid that
the sub - division shall be in ac •'ance with and approved by the
Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah : - ch, Tybee Island only when the
same conforms to the now or hereafte established policy of said
Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, bee Island.
SECTION 3 . BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that up • ' the approval of said

A special meeting of Council, was held today at 4:00 P. M. and was
attended by Mayor Bright, who presided and Councilmen Lovell,
Righton, Sharpley, Cann, Solomon and Logan and Town Attorney
E. P. McIntyre.
The report of the Assessment Committee showing, the assessments
for the year May 1st, 193?, was read as follows:
Real Estates
Land $ 1,122,888.00
Improvements 862,501.00
Total $ 1,995,389.00
It was moved and seconded and passed that the report of the
Assessment Committee be adopted.
RESOLUTION
RESOLVED that the report of the Committee on Assessments of val-
uations of real estate and improvements thereon in Savannah Beach,
Tybee Island, for the year commencing May 1st, 193 ?, be received
and the valuation as thereon assessed be adopted as the basis of
assessment for taxation of real estate and improvements in said
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, for the year ending April 30th, 1938.
It was moved and seconded and passed that the budget for the com-
mencing May 1st, 1937 be adopted.
