SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF
OCTOBER 17, 2012
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file actions of the Parks and Recreation
Commission actions from their meeting of October 17, 2012.
BACKGROUND:
On October 17, 2012, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the October 17, 2012 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner Arrighi, Georgino, Wong, Vice -Chairman Vigil, Chairman
Fish
Absent: None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular
Meeting of September 19, 2012, and received and filed the monthly reports for
September 2012.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS — None
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY YOUTH FOOTBALL (TCYF) FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR
YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER PRACTICES NOVEMBER 10 -
DECEMBER 1, 2012
The Commission approved the request from TCYF for post -season use
of the Live Oak Park athletic fields. Practice locations will be determined
by staff.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for October 2012.
6. COMMISSION ITEMS SEPARATE FROM THE REGULAR AGENDA
A. Commissioner Wong requested the Commission establish an ad hoc
committee to work with staff on developing a veteran's program/event.
The Commission agreed to establish the ad hoc committee; Chairman
Fish appointed Commissioners Arrighi and Wong to serve on the veterans
affairs ad hoc committee.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 City Budget.
