A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2015 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT
PLAN
WHEREAS, as required in the Water Conservation Bill of 2009 SBx7 -7,
every urban water supplier that either provides over 3,000 acre -feet of water
annually, or serves more than 3,000 urban connections is required to assess the
reliability of its water sources over a 20 -year planning horizon, and report its
progress on 20% reduction in per- capita urban water consumption by the year
2020; and
WHEREAS, the City is an "urban water supplier' pursuant to Section
10617 of the California Water Code and directly serves potable water to more
than 3,000 customers and supplies more than 3,000 acre -feet of water at retail for
municipal; purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Water Management Plans must be prepared every
5 years and submitted to the Department of Water Resources (DWR); and
WHEREAS, Department of Water Resources' Integrated Regional Water
Management (IRWM) and water conservation grants and certain water grants
through other state agencies require that a supplier have a complete Urban Water
Management Plan to receive funding; and
WHEREAS, at least 60 days prior to the public hearing on the plan, the
City provided notifications to city or county within which the City provides waters
supplies that the City will be reviewing the plan and considering amendments or
changes to the plan;
WHEREAS, on May 24, 2016, the City sent out notices of the —time and
place of the public hearing to the cities and county within which the -City provides
water; -
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2016 and June 9, 2016 respectively the City
published notice in the Lynwood Press that on June 21, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. a
public hearing regarding the draft 2015 UWMP would be held in the Council
Chambers at which the public comment on the plan would be received, as
required by the California Water Code (CWC) Section 10642; and
WHEREAS, on June 1, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. a public hearing was conducted
in the Council Chambers at which the public was provided the opportunity to
comment on the 2015 UWMP; and

WHEREAS, the 2015 UWMP was prepared in accordance with the UWMP
Act which was established in 1983 to promote long -term water planning to ensure
sufficient water supplies are available to meet existing and future demands.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby adopts the 2015 Urban Water
Management Plan for the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager or his
designee to submit the 2015 Urban Water Management Plan to the California
Department of Water Resources.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this City
Council Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21St day of June, 2016.
