HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance No. 720-94 04-12-1994 ORDINANCE N0.720-94 • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 596, SAME BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS; AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS; PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE OF ZONING FROM C-1 (RESTRICTED COMMERCIAL) TO C-2 (GENERAL COMMERCIAL) ON LOT 7, BLOCK K OF THE RICHLAND HILLS ADDITION; PROVIDING A SEVERABILTTY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has conducted a public hearing on March 16, 1994, in conjunction with a request for rezoning of Lot 7, Block K, Richland Hills Addition to the City of Richland Hills, Tarrant County, Texas, and has rendered a recommendation to the City Council with respect to same; and WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a public hearing on April 12, 1994, considered the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, and has determined that the general welfare of the area of the City affected by the area to be changed will be enhanced by said change, as requested. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS; I. That the official zoning districts map of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the City of Richland Hills, being a part of Ordinance No. 596, be amended to change the zoning district classification of the property described as Lot 7, Block K, Richland Hills Addition, from its present classification as C-1 (Restricted Commercial), to C-2 (General Commercial). II. Severability Clause. That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared invalid or unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such invalid or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. III. Saving Clause. That Ordinance No. 596 and the Code of Ordinances, the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and the official zoning map for the City of Richland Hills, Texas, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect, save and except as amended by this ordinance. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after • its passage and publication as provided by the Richland Hills City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas.
