AN ORDINANCE SUSPENDING THE PROPOSED EFFECTIVE
DATE OF THE PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES AND SERVICE
REGULATIONS OF LONE STAR GAS COMPANY, A DIVISION
OF ENSEARCH CORPORATION, PROVIDING THAT THE
RATE SCHEDULES AND SERVICE REGULATIONS OF SAID
COMPANY SHALL REMAIN UNCHANGED DURING THE
PERIOD OF SUSPENSION, DECLARING THE PRESENT
INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF RICHLAND HILLS,
TEXAS, WITH RESPECT TO SAID PROPOSED RATE
SCHEDULES AND SERVICE REGULATIONS, PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE HEREOF TO SAID COMPANY, FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE IS PASSED IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Lone Star Gas Company, a division of Ensearch Corporation,
heretofore, on April 19, 1995, filed with the City Council its Statement of Intent,
together with its rate-filing package, proposing to change its rate schedules and
service regulations within the corporate limits of this municipality, effective on May
25th, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Lone Star Gas Company simultaneously, on April 19, 1995, filed a
. virtually identical Statement of Intent with other cities in the Fort Worth
Distribution System and it is the present intent of the City Council to await the
results of a rate study being conducted by the City of Fort Worth before considering
and taking action upon said new rate schedules and service regulations for Lone Star
Gas Company; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to suspend, pursuant to Section
5.08 of the Gas Utility Regulatory Act, the proposed effective date of said proposed
changed rate schedules and service regulations for a period of ninety (90) days from
May 25th, 1995, such suspension being in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
I.
That the effective date of the proposed changed rate schedules and service
regulations of Lone Star Gas Company is hereby suspended for a period of ninety (90)
days from May 25th, 1995;
II.
That the rate schedules and service regulations of Lone Star Gas Company
within this municipality in effect on April 19, 1995, shall continue in force during the
period of suspension as provided in Section I hereof.

That it is the present intent of the City Council to await the results of a rate
study to be conducted by the City of Fort Worth before further considering and
acting upon said new rate schedules and service regulations for Lone Star Gas
Company.
IV.
That the City Secretary of this municipality is hereby directed to deliver a copy
of this Ordinance to Lone Star Gas Company promptly after the passage hereof.
V.
It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
Ordinance is passed is open to the public and that proper notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by law.
VI.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and publication as provided by the Richland Hills .City Charter and the
laws of the State of Texas.
PRESENTED, GIVEN FIRST READING AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of
• the Richland Hills City Council on the 9th day of MaY 1995, by a vote
of 5 ayes, ~ nays, and 0 abstentions.
