A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF LYNWOOD CITY PARK FOR A CULTURAL FESTIVAL PRODUCED
BY THE ABANDONED CHILDREN OF NICARAGUA/CENTRAL AMERICAN
FOUNDATION TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 7 AND 28, 2016
, WHEREAS, a request was made by the Abandoned Children in
Nicaragua /Central American Foundation (ACN /CAF) to host a cultural festival within a
designated area of Lynwood City Park on August 7 and 28, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is to raise money to support ACN /CAF
causes; and
WHEREAS, the proposed events will take place on Sundays, August 7 and 28,
2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the use of a designated area of
Lynwood City Park for the proposed event with all applicable fees to be paid by the
applicant and all event and safety requirements adhered to as set forth by staff.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 19th of July, 2016.

SUBJECT: Request from Abandoned Children in Nicaragua /Central American
Foundation to use Lynwood City Park for a Cultural Festival
COMMENT:
The Abandoned Children in Nicaragua /Central American Foundation (ACN /CAF) has
submitted a request to use the soccer fields at Lynwood City Park for two public cultural
festivals to be held on Sundays August 7 and 28, 2016. The event will feature cultural
food and entertainment with event proceeds being used to pay for event and city costs
as well as to support the foundation's community activities.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council review and approve a request from the
Abandoned Children in Nicaragua /Central American Foundation to use Lynwood City
Park for a Cultural Festival and adopt the attached resolution entitled: " "A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF LYNWOOD CITY PARK FOR A CULTURAL FESTIVAL PRODUCED BY
THE ABANDONED CHILDREN OF NICARAGUA/CENTRAL AMERICAN
FOUNDATION TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 7 AND 28,2016."
