ORDINANCE NO. 804-96
AN ORDIlVANCE OFFICIALLY NAMIlVG PROPERTY OWNED
BY THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS ALONG THE
SOUTHWEST SIDE OF AIRLINE DRIVE AS "CREEK TRAIL
PARK".
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills, Texas, in conjunction with the United
States Army Corps of Engineers, has purchased several parcels of property located in
Block 3 of the Jordan Addition to the City of Richland Hills, and generally located
along the southwest side of Airline Drive within the City for flood control purposes;
and
WHEREAS, as a part of said project, the aforesaid tracts have been cleared of
structures and will hereafter be used for park and recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Richland Hills Parks and Beautification Advisory Board has
solicited input from citizens, and has selected a name for the new park from
suggestions made by Richland Hills citizens; and
WHEREAS, the name selected by the Parks and Beautification Advisory Board
for the new park is "Creek Trail Park"; and
WHEREAS, the Richland Hills City Council, after due consideration, has
determined to accept the recommendation of the Parks and Beautification Advisory
Board and officially designate the new city park along Airline Drive as "Creek Trail
Park."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the new city park property located on the southwest side of Airline Drive
within the City of Richland Hills be and the same is hereby officially designated as
"Creek Trail Park".
Section 2.
The City Manager of the City of Richland Hills is hereby authorized to procure
appropriate signage to place this designation into effect.
PRESENTED, GIVEN FIRST READING AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of
the Richland Hills City Council on the 22nd day of October, 1996, by a vote
of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
