HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1992 11/11Golf Course Advisory Committee Minutes November 11, 1992 Attending: Kay Larson Ted Whiteman Frank Brown Carl Hoss Charles Denham DeEtte McCarty Chairman Larson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: All Committee members were present MINUTES: The minutes from October 15, 1992 were approved as written. STAFF REPORT: Carl Hoss presented a list of figures indicating the increases in number of rounds and money taken in 1992 over 1991. He estimates a 28% increase in the total number of rounds in 1992. Denham reported to the Committee the Council action on Mr. Howard's proposal to trade his capital for 1 lifetime pass. City Council action was to purchase his capital for the sum of $7,216.50. The Committee recommends to the City Council to correct the statement in Section II paragraph B in the City Council minutes to read "the Advisory Committee recommends not to purchase capital from Mr. Howard as per minutes from October 15, 1992 meeting of the Golf Course Advisory Committee. NEW BUSINESS: 1) Golf Course Marketing Plan, 1993: Carl Hoss produced a list of promotional expenses for 1993. After discussion, Whiteman moved to recommend to the City Council to approve the promotional budget for 1993 as listed in the amount of $2500.00. McCarty seconded and the motion carried. 2) Procedure for Restaurant Proposals: This item will be discussed when proposal comes before the Committee. 3) Fee Schedule: No recommendation at this time. 4) Golf Course Rules and Regulations: No recommendations at this time. OLD BUSINESS: 1) Winter Use of Clubhouse: City Council set fee at $250.00 per day. Superintendent will book dates, open, close, and inspect building after each event. There was some discussion of possibilities of some non-profit groups using facility for half days with no fee. 2) Golf Pro Contract: Carl will bring a proposal before the Committee at the next meeting. 3) Cart Storage: No recommendations at this time. 4) Road Intersecting Clubhouse Drive: No recommendation at this time.
