March 23rd, 1938. A special meeting of Council was held to -day at 2:30 p.m., in the office of Mayor Bright, Who presided, and was also attended by Councilmen Cann, Logan, Lovell, Sharpley, Solomon. It was moved, seconded and passed that Mrs. R.L.Curry, W.J.Moore, and Benno P.Hosti be appointed managers to handle the election to be held for Mayor and Six Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, on April 4th, 1938, and that each , .nager be pad $ 5.00 for = erving. 2 -441K f ounci (. The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.x. in Savanna office, and was attended to Mayor Bright, who pre- sided, and councilmen Sharpley, Cann, Solomon, Logan, Lovell, Highton and Town Attorney Mclntire. W.F.Lingenfelser, a former police officer of the Town, who was injured in Falling off bf a motorcycle, while employed bybthe Town, and w o subsequently had his leg amputated, petitoned that the To, purchase for him an artificial leg. The Mayor and Town Attorney were appointed a committee to look into thertter and ascerta'i'n costs, ect. It was move , seconded and passed that the assessments on land values be reduced 20 per cent, effective May 1,1938. The Matter of moving the fire engine from its present location to another was discussed, but no action was taken, Councilman Solomon was requested to have an inventory made of all the property of the Town used by the Fire Department. It was moved, seconded and passed that the Town purchase a quantity of oyster shell that is available on the island/at not over . 2 cents per bushel, at the pile.
