If this form is received after the deadline, the item will be listed on the next scheduled agenda. Council Meeting Date for Request: October 22, 2015 Item: Notice of Emergency Purchase per Section 2-418: Emergency Purchases – The SCBA fill station was broken at the fire station. The system was designed for a low pressure bottles, and Fire Department has tried to adapt it to the new high pressure SCBA. The valves that are not deep enough to screw on the bottles so they can fill with air bank which we use to fill our SCBA bottles. The system is at least 25 years old if not more so hard to keep getting parts to keep up with maintenance of the compressor. If a fire was to happen, the department would have to call for Mutual Aid and hope someone can send us an air trailer. Most importantly the new system will be a whole lot safer to use by the firefighters.
