HomeMy Public PortalAbout1976-05-17 Annual Town Election Report REPORT OF THE ANTUAL TOWN ELEC TI01N May 17, 1976 In accordance with the Warrant the inhabitants of Brewster qualified to vote in the Annual Town ?Election, met at the Town Hall, Konday, May 17, 1976. The polls were declared open at 10:00 a.m.. The election workers, duly sworn in were Paul C. Sylver, Warden, Dorothy Greasier, Deputy :harden, Tellers, Gladys Curtis, Richard Kingston, F. Ford Labalme, Daniel Kelly, Doris Powell and J. Ogden Tyldsley, Jr. The counters who came at 3:30 p.m. were Hugo Frederickson, Jure Gallant, Hoy 2. Jones, SII and Vilbert isfiaite. Twite 1101 Scattered 6 Blanks 172 Blanks 273 Recreation Commission for Three Years Stephanie A.Sullivan 1053 Blanks 220 REPORT OF THE R CCUNT .lune 3, 1976 Upon Recount Petition of 20 qualified voters and letter by candidates a recount of the Selectman=Assessor4election and the Water Commissioner for three years election took place on Thursday, June 3, 1976 at the Town Hall. The Board of ReEistrars Dorothea Dugan, Ruth eddy, Jean Gage and Jon Howard conducted the recount together with clerks Dorothy Grenier, Richard Kingston and Eleanor Alliams. 'Present were the candidates and each with one observer with the exception of Kr. Doyle who had two observers and an attorney. Vaughn 217 Scat';.ered 2 31anks 6 Blanks 120 N 0 T I C E There will be a Public Hearing of the Personnel Board on Friday, May 7, 1976 at 10:00A.M. to reconsider the action which was previously approved by the Board at a Public Hearing on March 29, 1976, and to con- sider the following matter: . ARTICLE To see if the Town will vote to amend the Personnel By-Law, Section XII, Classification and Compensation Schedule in the following manner. By increasing all wage scales in the amount of 2%, with the exception of the following exclusions: PW IX - Tree Warden PW X - Superintendent of Insect Pest Control WD 2 - Assistant Water Superintendent B3 - Gas Inspector B4 - Assistant Gas Inspector B8 - Plumbing Inspector B9 - Assistant Plumbing Inspector M2 - Assistant Shellfish Constable BD - Custodian, Regular Fart-time These increases will be calculated as follows: (a) For salaried personnel, by increasing the existing weekly salary by 2%, and multiplying the result by fifty-two (52) weeks to determine the annual salary. (b) For hourly personnel, by increasing the hourly rate by 2% and multi- plying the result by the number of hours normally worked during the week to determine the weekly salary.
