AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, APPROVING CHANGE
ORDER NUMBER ONE TO A CONTRACT WITH DON SCHNIEDERS EXCAVATING FOR
PROJECT NUMBER 2129 PERTAINING TO EAST MCCARTY NORTH BLUFF, AND
HAYS STREETS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, on behalf
of the City, Change Order No. 1 to a contract with Don Schnieders Excavating for Project
Number 2129 pertaining to East Mccarty North Bluff, and Hays Streets, said change order
being attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein as if more fully and
completely set out.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.

The first three items of thus change order address the instability ol'thc Slit)grad:: nmwrild fotuld tlpoll 1110 removal oFthe
existing pavement. These items co►lstitane the solution to the instability of the sub haze. 'I'hc lilurth item adjusts the contract
(file to errors in the design in the original storm wiper system.
Note: Items noted its IoW (extra work)are new line items with negotiated costs. The cost.lustilication for each of the items
is listed in parentheses at the end ol'cach explanation

SCOPF OF WORK:
The work included in this item shall include file I'll-nishilip ol'all labor,equipment, and material toil'the exc"wiltion o1'an
! additional foot of sub grade material and its removal from the site. The al'Icctcd area is csfinimcd io he 12140 square yards.
The item will be utilized after the still grade elevation has been established and it is determined that unsuitable nmterial
remains.
COST AND TIME':
The cost o1'this item shall be paid for at the rate of $2.75 per square yard. Tell days will he added to the contract for this

ITEM EW 20 - 2" Base Rock (two G" lifts)
SCOPF(.)f WORK:
The work included in this item shall include the furnishing ol'all labor, equipment,and nmterial for the placement and
compaction ol'two 6" lifts o1'2" base rock under the typical cross Section of Fast McCarty Street. This item will be used in
conjunction with item I.W It).
COST AN1)TINA :
The cost o1'this item shall be paid liar al the rate ol'$14.10 per ton. Ten days will be added to the Crmtrild fin•this

SCOPE 01" WORK:
The work included in this item shall include the 1u1-nishing 01',111 Inhar,equipment. and material lux the placement of

SCOPE Of WORK:
The work included in this item shall include the liu-nishing ol'all labor,equipment,and materit►I Ibr the changes needed due
to a design error. T'hesc changes arc detailed in the revised storm water profile shccls dated 5-13-04.
COST AND T'IMI':
The cost of this item shall be paid for as it fund sum totaling$0,244,00. No additional time will be given for this
