AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO BE SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID PROPERTY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, finds that certain property in the custody of the Finance Department described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, is surplus property, and as such represents a burdensome cost for storage and maintenance, and that the property is no longer needed for any public purpose. Section 2. The Finance Department is hereby authorized to advertise for bid the item described in Exhibit A for sale, and to sell the property to the highest bidder at public auction. Section 3. For a number of years computer equipment was apart o1110 annual auction. however, the Department of Natural Resources has advised staff that computer equipment is now considered hazardous waste and has provided a list of registered recyclers for this type of equipment. It is staffs intention to bid the pickup, transportation and proper disposal of the computer equipment listed with award to a registered recycler.
