ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO SCHOLASTIC, INC,, PURSUANT TO
THE TERMS OF THE PREVIOUS LEASE,
WHEREAS, On April 1 , 1983 the City of Jefferson and Scholastic Inc., entered into a lease
agreement whereby Scholastic agreed to make lease payments equal to the bond
payments made by the City for certain property; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Such lease, Scholastic Inc., was given the option to purchase the
property for the amount outstanding on the bonds plus One Hundred and no/100 Dollars
($100,00); and,
WHEREAS, the bonds have been paid off and there is no amount currently outstanding;
and,
WHEREAS, Scholastic Inc., requested to purchase the property and has tendered the
amount of One Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($100.00);
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute
all necessary instruments required to convey to Scholastic Inc., the following described real
estate:
All of the following described real estate situated in the County of Colo-, State
of Missouri:
Tract 1:
A part of the Northeast Quarter of the SOLJllle;.ISt Quarter and apart Of the SOUVIONISt Quarter,
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 22, and a part of Private Survey No. 2680, all in
Township 44 North, Range 11 West, Cole County, Missouri, and being more particularly
described as follows:
From the Southeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section
22; thence S 83" 16'42"W, along tile Quarter Section Line,793.61 foot to the Westerly Line
of McCarty Street and to the point of beginning for this description; thence continuing S 83"
16'42"W,along Quarter Section Line, 574,65 feet to the Northwest Corner of the Northeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 22; thence S 05" 00' 00" E, along said Quarter
Quarter Section Line, 1562.43 feet to the Southwest corner of a tract of land as conveyed to
Joseph W. and Amoratte M. Trigg by deed of record in Book 137, Page 174, Cole County
10 Recorder's Office; thence N 83" 12' 22" E, along tf•ie South Line of said TRIGG Tract,
1468.99 feet to a point on the Westerly Line of McCarty Street; thence in a northerly direction,
along the Westerly Line of said McCarty Street on the following courses and distances;
northerly on a curve to the right, having a radius of 1482,70 feet, a distance of 331.07 feet;
thence N 68" 47' 54" E,10.0 feet: thence N 21" 12' 06" W, 430,70 loot; thence northerly on
a curve to the left, heaving a radius of 1106.31 feet, a distance of 163.49 feet; thence S 60"
•19' 52" W, 5.0 feet; thence northerly on a curve to the left, having a radius of 1101,31 feel,
a distance of 96.07 foot; thence N 55" 19' 58" E, 5.0 feet; thence northerly on A curve to the

westerly line of McCarty Street and the point of beginning for this description; thence
continuing S 83" 16' 42" W, along the Quarter Section Line, 567.13 feet to a point on the
Easterly line of City View Drive;thence N 27"56'36"E,along said Easterly Line, 198.68 feet;
thence Northerly along said Easterly Line, on a curve to the left, having a radius of 659.94
feet,a distance of 184.12 feet;thence N 85"30" 31" E,along said Easterly Line, 117.05 feet
to the Westerly Line of McCarty Street; thence S 36 42' 06" E, along said Westerly Line,
34.54 feet; thence Southerly along said Westerly Line, on a curve to the left, having a radius
of 1186.26 feet, a distance of 341.62 feel; thence S 53" 12'06" E, along said Westerly Line,
37.04 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 2.37 acres.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
