AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING THE ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR A PORTION OF BLUFF STREET.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that
the owners of land adjacent to and abutting upon Bluff Street in the City, have petitioned
the City Council to vacate a right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that if would not inconvenience the public or
the citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of the right-of-way of Bluff Street for public
use as described in Section 1 of this Ordinance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right-of-way a portion of Bluff Street
and forever vacate the following described right-of-way in said City:
Part of Lot No. 3, Block 29, of Renn Addition to tf re City of Jefferson, as per plat of
record in Plat Book 2, Page 5,of the Cole County Recorder's Office, said part of Lot
No. 3 being that as described in a "Right Of Way Deed"of record in Book 65, Page
401, excepting therefrom the most southern 6.5 feet of said Lot No. 3, the part of
Lot No. 3 as described in said Book 65, Page 401 is as follows:
"Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot No. 3; thence in an easterly direction
along the south line of said lot,a distance of 110 feet, more or less; thence following
the left or north right-of-way line of auxiliary to U.S. Highway 1163, Project 1-A, Cole
County, a distance of 120 feet, more or less; thence in a southerly direction, a
distance of 8 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning.
A copy of the plans of the above mentioned highway as surveyed, located, and
platted by the State Highway Department are on file will) the Clerk of the County
Court of Cola County, Missouri.
The north or left right-of-way line of said auxiliary highway lies 2.5 feet from the
centerline of said auxiliary highway."
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is
hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required
to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated,
as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the alley right-of-way vacated.
Section a. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage. I
