AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, RELINQUISHING A CERTAIN
EASEMENT FOR SANITARY SEWER PURPOSES IN PART OF LOT 12, SWIFT AND
THOMPSON SUBDIVISION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, by an easement recorded in Book 1, Page 9, of the Records of the Cole County,
Missouri, a sewer easement was granted to the City of Jefferson, a Municipal Corporation, to
excavate within, install, construct, maintain and repair structures for the routing and
conveyance of sewer in, under and through the lots, tracts or parcels of land described in
Section 1;
Section 1. The Council finds that the following described easement is surplus property
of the City and is no longer needed for any public purpose:
Part of a five (5) foot wide sanitary sewer easement across a part of Lot No. 12, of Swift and
Thompson Subdivision, in the City of.Jefferson, Missouri, as per plat of record in Plat Book 1 ,
Page 9, of the Cole County Recorder's Office, the centerline of said five (5) foot wide
easement being more particularly described as follows:
From the southeast corner of said Lot No. 12; thence N05"10'33"W, along the easterly
line of said Lot No. 23, 39.60 feet; thence S84')49'27"W, 3.99 feet; thence
so S82-35'00"W, 10.00 feet to an existing sanitary sewer line at Station 6+13.22 of Sewer
District No. 82, as per plans of record at the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the POINT OF
BEGINNING of this centerline description; thence N06`28'03V, along said sanitary
sewer line, 116.79 feet to Station 7+30.50 of said Sewer District No. 82; thence
continuing N60"22'37"W, along said sewer line, 128.12 feet to Station 8+58.62 of said
Sewer District No.82 and the POINT OF TERMINATION of this centerline description.
Section 2. The easement described in Section 1 is hereby relinquished, and the City
does hereby release and abandon whatever interest it has in the easement.
Section 3. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute any necessary
legal document relinquishing all of the City's interest in the tract of ground described in Section
1 .
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and pproval.
