AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT
WITH THE JEFFERSON CITY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
an amendment to the agreement with the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce for
Economic Development Services.
Section 2. The amendment shall be substantially the same in form and content as
that amendment attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.

Dear Mayor Landwehr and Commissioner Jones:
'rhe Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting a three year extension of
the current economic development contract with the City of.lefferson and Cole County.
The new agreement will expire October 31, 2000.
As you know, we are conducting a search for a new economic development director and
believe it is imperative that we employ a quality individual to take us to the next series of
levels in this important matter, In discussinLt this issue with other elected of7icials in the
city and county, we agree it will be extremely helpful to inform these employment
prospects, the Chamber and our partners, the City and County, have mutually agreed to
a multi-year economic development partnership agreement.
Our search committee, which includes members of tile, city council and county
commission, is likely to begin the selection process in late August or early September. It
would be helpful to know your decision prior to the beginning of'the interview procedure.
'The Chamber has truly enjoyed our partnership with the City and County on this and
other matters over the years. We look forward to 01,11 continuation.

CITY OF JEFFERSON
AMENDMENT TO EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PARTNERSHIPS 2000 PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson and the Jefferson City Area Ch,imbcr of'Commcrce entered into an agreement
on December 5, 2000, and amended October 17, 2001 and October 23, 2002; and,
WHEREAS,the parties have amended said agreement from time to time to extend tyre term of'the agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the agreement add additional terms,
NOW THEREFORE, in exchange for the mutual promises exchanged herein and for other good and valuable
consideration, the parties hereby to amend the existing contact by adding the following:
1. The parties hereby agree to amend paragraph 3, entitled, "Term" to read as follows:
3. Term
The tenn of this agreement shall be extended fora period of 36 coon ths, commencing November
1, 2003 and ending on October 31, 2006, which extension is subject to annual appropriation
according to law.
The parties hereby agree to the addition of paragraph 15, entitled, "City Liaison" to read as follows:
15. Cily Liaisons
a. The Chamber will provide in its by-laws hn• the appointment by the City of a City Liaison
to Site Development Review Board and a City Liaison to the 'Transportation Committee.
b. The City will appoint a council member to fill each liaison position.
