NO.__ 2003-153 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN Berry ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE, DECLARING SAID PROPERTY SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING SALE OF THE PROPERTY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson desires to transfer by gift the property owned by the City at 717 Walsh to Habitat for Humanity for purposes of construction of a house; Section 1 . The Mayor and the City clerk are hereby authorized and directed to endorse a Quit-Claim Deed and to certify the transfer and sale of real estate under the seal of the City of Jefferson and on any and all documents necessary related to the following real estate in Cole County, Missouri: Lot No.4 of the Leuthen's subdivision, Section 17, Township 44, Range 11 in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, as per plat 2, page 42, of record in the office of 11,C) Recorder of Deeds of Cole County, Missouri. Section 2. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri finds that certain real property as described in Section 1 are surplus property, and :.Is such represents a burdensome cost of maintenance, and that the property is no longer needed for any public purpose. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval. Passed:--- Approved: ....... We understand there will he costs associated with preparing the lot 161. Construction. There will he removal ol'trees and an old foundation as well as leveling and trading the lot. There is a need in our' con-r»lunily (in' sal'e, dccent and aff'61-dah►c housing. This lot will allow us to build a third house in this neighborhood.
