AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON TO APPLY TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION FOR TRANSIT OPERATING ASSISTANCE GRANTS,
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CERTIFICATIONS, ASSURANCES, GRANT
AGREEMENTS, AND ELECTRONIC FILINGS.
WHEREAS, the United States Bureau of the Census, 2000 Census Data showed 53,714 amount
of population for the Jefferson City Urbanized Area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson previously received Federal Transit Administration urban
formula grant funds through the Missouri Department of Transportation for 49 U.S.C.
Section 5311; and
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Transportation previously was the Designated Direct
Recipient of 49 U.S.C. Section 5307 and 5311 f=ederal Transit Administration funds;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson operates a municipal transit system; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City of Jefferson accepts the Designated Direct Recipient status
pursuant to the 49 U.S.C. Section 5307.
Section 2. The City staff is authorized to execute applications, certifications, grant
agreements, electronic filings, and to accept 49 U.S.C. Section 5307 funds
pursuant to all Federal Transit Administration grant requirements.
Section 3. The City shall fully cooperate with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning
Organization.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and approval.
