WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the owners of land adjacent to and abutting upon a portion of Oregon Street in the City, have petitioned the City Council to vacate a right-of-way; and WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or the citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of the right-of-way of a portion of Oregon Street for public use as described in Section 1 of this Ordinance; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 , The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right-of-way a portion of Oregon Street and forever vacate the following described right-of-way in said City: Part of the fifty (50) foot wide right-of-way of Oregon Street, lying east of and adjacent to the east line of Block 24, of Washington Park Addition to the City of Jefferson, as per plat of record in Plat Book 2, Page 3, of the Cole County Recorder's Office, said subdivision being situate in the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 44 North, Range 12 West, in the City of Jefferson, County of Cole, Missouri;said right-of-way being mare particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the northeast corner of said Block 24, of Washington Park Addition to the City of Jefferson, said corner also being the intersection of the south line of Pike Street and the west line of said Oregon Street; thence S70°16'39"E, along the easterly extension of the south line of said Pike Street, 50.00 feet to the east line of said Oregon Street; thence S19°55'31"W, along the east line of said Oregon Street, 236.96 feet, to the intersection of said east line with the south line of said Washington Park Addition; thence N87 0041 7"W, along the south line of said Washington Park Addition, 52.28 feet, to the southeast corner of said Block 24, of said Washington Park Addition; thence N19°55'31"E, along the east line of said Block 24, 252.07 feet, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Containing in all, 0.28 • acres, more or less. 5"tion 22. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated, as described in Section 't of this ordinance, in the right-of-way vacated.
