AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 2
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PERTAINING TO CITY
COUNCIL MEETING PROCEDURES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2-29 (Citizens' participation) of the Code of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended as follows:

appearance,but it is suggested that individuals wishing to participate notify the City C k-rk*15 minutes
prior to beginning of the Council mecting. Priority Ibr speaking will be given to those who contact
the Clerk at the earliest time. On any specific issue. there will he a 15 minute little limit fir all
speakers eombiued,which time limit may be extended with the consent ol'the Council. Fach speaker
shall be limited to a live minute time period, .which time may he extended by the consent of the
Council. Individuals who arc not residents of the City may address the(.'ounci! during Ibis period of
time, sub,jcct to a motion supported by a majority of the Council Io omit the appearance of non-
reAdent speakers.

Section 2, Section 2-50 (Duty to be recognized befpr�rocepdina to speak) of
the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended as follows:
See. 2-50. Duty to be recognized before proceeding to speak.
When a member wishes to speak, the member shall ri�tr raise his or her hand but shall not
procccd with any remarks until rceognirecl,tnd nnntcci by thc.chair. Once rccogaizcd,the ntcmhermay
speak from either a standing or sitting position.
