AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI PROVIDING FOR THE
VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF REAL PROPERTY CONTIGUOUS TO AND LYING NORTH OF
THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS INTO THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, LOCATED IN
SECTIONS 14 AND 23 IN TOWNSHIP 44 NORTH, RANGE 11 WEST IN THE COUNTY OF
CALLAWAY, STATE OF MISSOURI, AND REPEALING SECTION 1-17 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DEFINING THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND
ENACTING A NEW SECTION PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 71 .012.2 RSMo, 1994, the City Council of the City of Jefferson
desires to annex the unincorporated area of land described in Section 1; and
WHEREAS, the land is owned by the City of Jefferson, and adjacent to the Jefferson City
Memorial Airporl and wastewater treatment plant; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the annexation was advertised on August 1, 2003 in
the Jefferson City Post Tribune; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

Section The City Council Intends to and shall proceed to annex, as provide) by law,
the unincorporated area of land described as follows, containing approximately 400 acres, more
or less:
Part of East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 14, part of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 14, all of the Southeast Quarter of Section 14, all of the East
Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 14, part of the Northeast Quarter of
Section 23, and part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, all in Township 44
North, Range 11 West, in the County of Callaway, Missouri; being more particularly
described as follows: BEGINNING at the east quarter corner of said Section 14;
thence south along the east line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 14, to the
southeast corner of said Section 14, said corner also being the northeast corner of
said Section 23; thence south along the east line of the Northeast Quarter of said
Section 23 to the intersection of said east line with the south line of Mokane Road
(formerly Missouri State Supplementary Route "D" or Old Route 94); thence
westerly along the south line of said Mokane Road to the intersection of said south
line with the west line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 23; thence north along said west line to the northwest corner of the
Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 23, said corner also
being the southwest corner of the Last Half of the Southwest Quarter of said

of said northerly line with the north prolongation of the west line of a tract conveyed
to Gary and Janice Sines, husband and wife and as described in Book 313, Page

follows: Part of the North Half of Section 23, Township 44 North, Range 11 West,
in Callaway County, Missouri, more particularly described as follows: From the

right-of-way of Old Route 94;thence along said right-of-way, N80"24'W, 1128,0 feet
to the BEGINNING POINT for this description; thence N78"24'W, 149.10 feet;

Section 2. The City Council finds and declares that the land described in Section 1 is
contiguous to the City boundary; that the annexation is reasonable and necessary to the proper
development of the City; and further, did determine the City has the ability to furnish normal
municipal services to the area.

the annexation of the unincorporated area described in Section •1.
SqG ion 4. The land described in Section 1 shall be zoned RU Rural Use until such time
as the zoning may be changed in the manner provided for by State Statute and City Code.
Section 5. Section 1-17 of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri is hereby repealed
and a new ,Section 1-17 is hereby enacted, which shall read as fol!ows:
