ORDINANCE NO:_ I
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF
CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXA'rION FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI FOR THE YEAR 2003.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Spqj!grj_1. There is horoby levied and assossed the following rate on call Real Estate and
Personal Property, and other tangible property within the limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
not exempt from taxation by the. Constitution or the laws of the State of Missouri, as shown by the
assessment book of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the year 2003.
FIRST: For the purpose of paying all current expenses of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, for the fiscal year, the suin of $.48 on the ono hundrod dollar vaklilti011.
SECOND: For the purposo of establishing and maintaining Public Parks in the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of $.16 on tho one hundred dollar valuation.
THIRD: For the purpose of creating and maintaining a Firemen's Retirement
System for the Firemen of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of $.0973 on the
one hundred dollar valuation.
Section 2. It shall be the duty of the Finance Director to assure that the County Clerk has
caused to be extended to the appropriate columns opposite each item of taxable property in the
assessment books, as returned by the, AssOSSOr Of the County Of Colo, Missouri, and corrected by
the County Board of Equalization, the amount of taxes to be paid by each person as provided by
Section 1 of this Ordinance. This shall be done in accordance with tho provisions of the contract
previously entered into between the City of Jefferson and the County of Colo.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the drâ–ºte of its
passage and approval.
