AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE CODE
PERTAINING TO FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION BY REPEALING SECTION
13-43 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI, ENACTING ANEW
SECTION 13-43 IN LIEU THEREOF.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 13 (Fire Prevention and Protection), Section 43.
Amendments, deletions and insertions, of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby
amended by adding a new Subsection 19. to read as follows:
19) Delete Article 27 and insert the following in its place:

F-2700.3 Permit applications: Application fin•hermits shall be made in writing at Icast 15 clays in advance ofthe date

SECTION F-27111.0 USE, DISPI,A1' AND DISC IIARGE
F-2701.1 General: It shall be a violation ol'this code for ally person to store, use or explode any fireworks,except as

F-27111.3 Exemptions: Nothing in this article shall lie construed to prohibit any resident wholesaler, dealer or jobber
to sell at wholesale such fireworks as are not herein prohibited,or the sale ol'any kind of fireworks provided the same
are to lie shipped directly out of'slate.or the use of fireworks by railroads or other transportation agencies fart•signal
put7soses or illumination,or the sale or use ol'blank cartridges fora show or theater,or for signal or ceremonial purposes
in athletics or sports, or for• use by military organizations. Such wholesalers, dealers and jobbers shall store their
supplies of fireworks in accordance with Section F-2602.0.
F-2701.4 Seiaure of fireworks: The Jefferson City Firc Department shall seize, take, remove or cause to he removed
at the expense of the owner,all stocks of f ireworks that are offered or exposed For display or sale,or are stored or held
in violation of this article.
Section F-2702.0 ITRMI'1"1 EM POSSESSION AND USES
Notwithstanding any other provisions of Article 27, the following shall be permitted.
1. Possession and use of Class 1) fireworks.
2. Tran sport ittion of fireworks through the Cite.
3. Possession and Ilse of Class C fireworks on privstte property of five(5)acres or more.
All permitted uses of fireworks under this section most occur from June 15"'through Jule 8"',or December 31"
through January 0,and within the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.,except for the 41'of.luly and New Year's Eve
® when the hours will be extended until midnight.
�! Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
