AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 5
(ANIMALS), ARTICLE I (GENERAL), SECTIONS 5-6, 5-7, 5-10, 5-13, AND 5-14 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI:
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 5 (Animals), Article I (General), Section 5-6. Minimum area of
enclosures or pastures of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 5-0 Mininlunl area ol'enclosures or pastures
A. No person shall keep more than one livestock animal in an outdoor enclosure or pasture, unless such
enclosure or pasture;hall have an ;n-ea o1 Mlle-hall acre Ior each livestock animal; provided, that this
area requirement shall not apply to the keeping ol'n suckling offspring of'srlch ;ulinurl.
B. It shall he unlawful For tun'person to keep or use within the corporate limits any pen, stall, place or
enclosure in which hugs or swine shall he kept for more than 1' hour's, except tur the purpose of
u•ansportation or immediate use for the market.
C. The provisions of this section shall not apple to one Iawltilly operated stockyard, slaughterhouse•
university or college or veterinary hospital, or to is farm lawl'ully operating within a IM Rural
District.

Section 2. Chapter 5 (Animals), Article I (General), Section 5-7. Cleanliness of pens,
coops, etc. of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 5-7. Cleanliness of pens,coops,etc.
It shall he unlawltil IO keep;illy animal ill any structure, pen, coop or yard tllat is not maintained in a
Clean and sallitary condition at all tinges.devoid ofall rodents and vermin and free front offensive,disagreeable
or obnoxious smells or odors, tending to injure. ;tlllu►y or inconvenience any inhabitant of the neighborhood.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to a far•nl lawfully operating within a RU Rural District.

Section 3. Chapter 5 (Animals), Article I (General), Section 5-10. Hatcheries of the
Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows:

transferring, of livestock of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as
follows:

the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows:
