AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE
PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL FOR THE MUNICIPAL SERVICE OF JEFFERSON CITY,
MISSOURI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS;
Section 1. Section 3-13, Use of Vehicles, of the Personnel Policy Manual for the
municipal service of Jefferson City, Missouri., is hereby amended by the additions and
changes as follows:
Employees authorized to drive City vehicles are required to have a valid driver's license.

they are not rive-a-E=ity-v fe: Any employee who has had their license
suspended or revoked for moving traffic violations, accumulation of points, or drug
® or alcohol administrative reasons, is not authorized to drive a City vehicle for a period
of time equal to the length of the suspension/revocation, regardless if a hardship
license is received or not. The restriction on driving a city vehicle begins on the
effective date of the suspension or revocation, or when the City is notified of the
suspension or revocation, which ever is later. If an employee's city vehicle driving
privileges are removed as stipulated by this policy, they will not be allowed to drive
a city vehicle until they successfully complete an appropriate EAP, driver safety, or
other applicable program as required by the City. Employees are required to report to
their supervisor any suspension, revocation or other loss of the right to legally drive a motor
vehicle, if driving a City vehicle is a responsibility or privilege of the job.
Employees who are assigned take-home vehicles from the City fleet are
prohibited from using the vehicle for any use outside of City business except for "de
minimus" personal use. Employees are required to report personal mileage usage annually
to the Finance Department as required by the Internal Revenue Service.
. Employees shall report to the police department any accidents involving a City
vehicle and the property or vehicle of another party. Employees shall report any accident
involving damage to a City vehicle to their supervisor, department director, and the director
of human resources on a form prescribed for this purpose. Failure to report damage of
City vehicles as prescribed may result in disciplinary action.
