AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE CODE
PERTAINING TO CHAPTER 22 (PARKING, STANDING, AND STOPPING), ARTICLE I
(GENERALLY), AND SCHEDULE S: (LOADING ZONES) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section I. Chapter 22 (PARKING, STANDING. AND STOPPIN(j) ofthe Code of the City ol',IelTer•son is
hereby amended tolread as 1611ows:
Sec.22-2/ Loading zones.
1� A. Definitions: As used is this section and Scl►edule S:
I. Authorized vehicle. A commercial vehicle,delivery truck,or delivery
vehicle as defined by this section.
2. Com►►►ercial vehicle. !-;very vehicle designed, maintainer!, or used
primarily fur carrying; freight or merchandise which hears the name
of the owner or business prominently and permanently displayed ou
the side thereof.
3. Delivery truck. A vehicle primarily used to pick up or deliver goods,
mires,or merchandise,which bears the came of the owner or business
prominently and pernurncnlly displayed on the side thereof.
a. Delivery vehicle. A vehicle that prominently displays the name of the
owner or bushress on a sign temporarily affixed to the vehicle,which
sign is in place and is in the process of delivering goods, wares, or
merchrurdise in its ordinary course of business to Ilse a loading; zone
under this section. This sign must measure at least six (C►) inches in
heig lil and 1 '/: feel in length, and must be clearly readable and
distinguishable ti•ot►r it minimum distance of twenty-five feet away.

Any person desiriq, it loading zone on the roadways in the city shall file a written
application with the mpartnhent of"I'ransportation.The application will be on it firm provided by the

C. All loading zones in the city shall be sub•jccl to the hollowing regulations:
I. Loading zones,except passenger sand special loading;zones,shall only be
used by commercial vehicles smd,delivery trucks,and delivery vehicles.

3. A loading zone may be used by an authorized vehicle only while such
vehicle is being loaded or unl0adecl.
4. A loading zone shall he subject to all other parking regulations applicable
in the area of the loading zone.
5. An authorized vehicle shall be parked parallel to the curb or cdg;e o 'd he
roadway while in a loading zone.

7. No more than three(3) loading zones shall be established ua one block.
ft. No more than thirty (30) percent of the lineal length of a block shall be
used for loading, zones.
Di?. A loading zone shall not be established:
1. Van alley,side street,or oft-street parking space is reasonably available

2. 1 f there is an existing loading zone on the same side ol'Ilsc roadway within

Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows:

Pursuant to section 22-2J7, the Billowing locations are designated as loading zones let the Hollowing
tines:

Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
ordinance is for any reason held Invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision,
as such holdings shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
Section.-4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
