area shown as "RESERVE TRACT A"on the Final Plat of THE CEDARS,dated September 7,
2001 be acquired by the City of Jefferson for the purpose of providing the necessary area
to construct a storm water detention facility. The area of this tract is shown as 4.64 acres. f.

The recommendation of the Public Works Department is based upon the results of a study r
entitled"CITY OF JEFFERSON,TIMBER TRAILS STORM DRAINAGE STUDY",dated April
26, 1990. This study was commissioned to study the problem of flooding of the existing
' homes on Timber Trail and to recommend solutions that would minimize or eliminate the
problem. The results of the study indicate that the construction of a detention basin in the d;.

southerly portion of the proposed Reserve Tract would decrease the peak flow in the creek �
^' behind (east of) the homes on Timber Trail by approximately 35°/ This facility,
