HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD13348 BILL NO, 2001-171 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN Landwehr ORDINANCE NO._,- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI PROVIDING FOR THE VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF PARTS OF LOTS J AND K OF RIDGEVIEW ESTATES, A SUBDIVISION OF COLE COUNTY, MISSOURI, WHICH ARE CONTIGUOUS TO AND LYING SOUTHWEST OF THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS INTO THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, LOCATED IN THE COUNTY OF COLE, STATE OF MISSOURI,AND REPEALING SECTION 1-17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DEFINING THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 71.012.2 RSMo, 1994, the City Council of the City of Jefferson was presented with verified petitions requesting that the city annex the unincorporated area of land described in Section 1; WHEREAS, the petitions requesting said annexation were signed by all fee interests of record in all real property located within the area proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, after giving due and legal notice as required by law, a public hearing was held concerning the proposed voluntary annexation of the unincorporated area of land described in Section 1; WHEREAS, The City Council finds and declares that the land described in Section I is contiguous to the City boundary; that the annexation is reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the City; and further, did determine the City has the ability to furnish normal municipal services to the area. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council intends to and shall proceed to annex, as provided by law, the unincorporated area of land described as follows: Parcel One: All that part of Lot J of Ridgeview Estates, as per plat of record in Plat Book 11, Page 024, of the Cole County Recorder's Office, lying west of and adjacent to the east line of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 44 North, Range 12 West, in the County of Cole, Missouri; -and- Parcel Two: All that part of Lot K of Ridgeview Estates, as per plat of record in Plat Book 11, Page 024, of the Cole County Recorder's Office, lying west of and adjacent to the east line of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23,Township 44 North, Range 12 West, in the County of Cole, Missouri, Section 2.
