A ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
TAXATION OF LEASED MOTOR VEHICLES PURSUANT TO
TEXAS TAX CODE, SECTION 11.252
WHEREAS, the City Council of the CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS is of the
opinion that the exemption of leased motor vehicles will detrimentally affect the budget of the
City and its ability to provide necessary City services as required to its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature in enacting Texas Tax Code, Section 11.252 has
given municipalities the ability to tax said vehicles by adopting an ordinance to that effect before
January 1, 2002;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that the CITY OF
RICHLAND HILLS chooses not to exempt leased vehicles and will assess and levy ad valorem
taxes on said vehicles as authorized by Texas Tax Code, Section 11.252.
