the City of Jefferson, Missouri has entered into a state block grant and agency
agreement with the Missouri Department of Highway Transportation
Commission for land acquisition of certain properties hereinafter legally
described for airport expansion purposes, and the payment of the same
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON ��..,•�,:, ;;r:`

Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk actin under authority

No.12273, have entered into a State block grant and agency agreement with the Missouri
Department of Highway and Transportation Commission for land acquisition for the Jefferson
City M emorial Airport.

Section 2. That it is hereby determined that improvements be made to the
Jefferson City Memorial Airport for the purpose of improving safety and convenience of the
public and that it is necessary to extend the territorial boundaries of the airport.
Section 3. That it is hereby determined that it is necessary and desirable that the +aYrw, ` Y
City shall acquire title to and possession of the following described real property which said
real property is necessary, required and needed for the extension of the Jefferson City
Memorial Airport to wit:
Real property adjoining the City of Jefferson situated in the Coun ty of Callaway and State ��.

Section That the Grants Coordinator and the City Counselor, be and hereby are
authorized, empowered and directed to negotiate for and in behalf of said City with the owner
or owners of the hereinabove described real property for the purchase thereof by the City. I It
Section-—6. In the event that the said event that the said City is unable to agree with
the owners of said property as to the compensation to be paid therefor, then title to and
possession of said real property legally described in Section 3 of this Ordinance shall be ary
acquired by the City through condemnation, and the City Counselor is hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to institute proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction to
acquire title to and possession of said property and for said City in accordance with the
eminent domain laws of the State of Missouri, and specifically Section 82.240 RSMo and to
provide for the managing, controlling and policing of the same.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of
