ESTABLISHING SALARY SCHEDULES AND FIXING
THE MATTER OF PAYMENTS OF SALARIES FOR
VARIOUS OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE
BOROUGH OF CARTERET
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AS FOLI.OWS:
SECTION 1. That the following Amendment of the above entitled Ordinance be made in
Section 1:

SECTION 2. That the Schedule of Compensation of this Ordinance shall take effect upon passage
and publication as provided by Law.

AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
THIS AGREEMENT, made this~U day of Jm'~raTy, 2000,
BETWEEN THE PLANNING BOARD OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET,
(hereinafter the "Board")
AND JOHN P. DUPONT, (hereinafter the "Engineer");
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-69 obligates municipalities of the State of New Jersey to
create a Planning Board; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has created the Carteret Planning Board, which
Board pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-71 (b) has the power to contract for engineering services;
and
WHEREAS, the Board is in need of an Engineer; and
WHEREAS, JOHN P. DUPONT, has been appointed as the Engineer for the Board for
a term of twelve (12) months beginning January, 2000; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3 and N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5 provide for the awarding of
contracts such as contracts for engineering services, without competitive bidding.
WlTNESSETH that the Engineer, for and in consideration of payments he is to receive
from the Borough of Carteret, shall faithfully and diligently perform services as the Engineer
for the Board.
IN CONSIDERATION for the services of the Engineer, the Board agrees to pay the
Engineer a salary in the amount of $3,500.00 for the preparation for and attendance at
regularly scheduled meetings at which the Board's general business is conducted, as well as
conferences and correspondence with the Zoning Officer, Board Attorney and other Borough
employees and professionals, and limited legal research. The Engineer shall bill separately,
at the houdy rates set forth on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Board has caused this Agreement to be signed by
the Chairman and witnessed by the Clerk, and the Engineer has hereunto set his hand and
seal the day, month and year written above.
