AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDINANCE �
12653, EFFECTUATING THE REMOVAL OF REFERENDUM ON TAX ISSUE RELATED
TO A CONVENTION CENTER FROM THE FEBRUARY 2, 1999, BALLOT.
WHEREAS, The Request for Proposal ("RFP") process- pertaining to a convention center
for the City of Jefferson, was reopened by the City on November 16, 1996; 1
and l
WHEREAS, Ballots for the February 2, 1999, City election will be printed at 4:00 PM on
December 9, 1998; and

WHEREAS, The Council has extended the RFP deadline to January 4, 1999.
NOW,THERE=FORE, gE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Ordinance 12653, enacted by the Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, on November 16, 1998, authorizing referendum on tax issue related to a
convention center, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Counselor are hereby authorized to take
appropriate actions and execute necessary documents to effectuate this ordinance,
including filing any necessary actions in court.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in fell force and effect after the date of its passage
and approval.
